The Covent Gardener
An illustrated cover proposal for a magazine in London called The Covent Gardener. It focuses on the concept of time while inserting some specific references to Covent Garden’s historical periods, present structure and its future growth. The apples and the form of the arches in the doily represent the apple market and craft work, also, the blue plaque of the vase and the merchant tokens represent Covent Garden’s rich past. I always like to imagine the history of a place versus its present – who walked here before and how did it look like so this cover tried to convey that idea as well.
